Cookie policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. StatWidget uses as few as possible.
What we use
- Sign-in session (app.statwidget.com): keeps you logged in to the dashboard. Strictly necessary; removed when you log out or it expires.
- Language (sw-lang, app.statwidget.com): remembers the language you picked. Strictly necessary for the interface; kept for one year.
- Your cookie choice (sw-consent, statwidget.com and app.statwidget.com): remembers whether you allowed analytics. Strictly necessary; kept 6 months, then we ask again.
- Partner code (sw_ref, statwidget.com and app.statwidget.com): set only when you open a partner’s link (statwidget.com/r/CODE). Holds the partner’s code and nothing about you, so that the student discount and the partner’s credit are applied when you sign up or pay. Kept 60 days.
- Theme (sw-theme, stored in your browser’s local storage, not sent to us): remembers light or dark mode.
- Analytics, only with your consent (_ga and _ga_<ID>, statwidget.com and app.statwidget.com): Google Analytics sets a random identifier to count visits and see which pages are useful. Kept up to 13 months. Google Analytics does not run in the dashboard itself (the journal).
What we do not use
No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Google Analytics starts only after you click “Accept all” or switch analytics on in “Settings”; until then nothing is sent to Google.
Control
You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the site, or delete cookies in your browser settings. Without the session cookie you will not be able to stay logged in to the dashboard. Questions: support@statwidget.com.
