About StatWidget
StatWidget is an always-on-top pre-trade checklist for Windows and macOS with a web dashboard that measures the trader, not only the strategy. Every entry gets a score before the click; the dashboard shows what each broken rule cost.

What StatWidget does
- Sits above any trading terminal or chart, collapsed to a small pill until you need it — no alt-tab.
- Day plan in the morning: loss limit, trade limit, readiness questions → a readiness index for the day.
- Pre-trade checklist before every entry: your own questions, up to 30 fields, critical ones marked → an entry score from 1 to 10.
- Every submitted checklist becomes a trade in the journal: result, screenshot, tags, notes, a 1–5 star self-rating.
- Dashboard that connects readiness and entry scores with results — what trading against the plan costs in R.
- Position size calculator for forex, futures and crypto, built into the widget.
- Mentor dashboard: a mentor sees a student's trades and checklists and leaves comments.
- Works offline; everything is stored on your machine and syncs to the dashboard when you are online.
What it does not do
- It does not connect to broker accounts or exchanges and needs no API keys.
- It does not place, close or block trades. A red score never blocks the Submit button — the entry is recorded as «against plan».
- It gives no signals, no market calls and no financial advice.
- It does not import trades automatically. You enter the result yourself — the moment after the trade is part of the method.
- There is no mobile app yet: the widget runs on desktop, the dashboard in a browser.
Who it is for
- Day traders and scalpers who trade from a terminal and know their rules but break them in the moment.
- Traders in prop-firm evaluations, where one day against the plan ends the challenge.
- Mentors and trading schools who want to see their students' decisions before the entry, not only the result.
Why it exists
Trading journals measure the strategy after the fact. Most losses, though, come from the trader: a late entry, a doubled size after a loss, a trade on a day that should have been skipped. StatWidget moves the checklist to the moment before the click and keeps the answers.
The principle behind it: the strategy does not trade — the trader does. Discipline is a skill, and a skill can be measured and trained.
